[Seoul, Yeonnam] Sarukame Ramen | Michelin Guide Ramen & Waiting Tips

If you’re looking for a good ramen spot in Seoul, Sarukame in Yeonnam-dong is definitely worth checking out.

It’s a popular ramen restaurant known for its Michelin Guide selection, and I visited on a Sunday to try their famous Crab & Clam Ramen.

For lunch, remote waiting opens at 9:00 AM.

    My Waiting Experience

I joined the remote waitlist at around 10:58 AM and got number 44.

The restaurant opened at 11:30 AM, and I was finally seated around 12:30 PM, so I waited for about an hour and a half.

One thing to know: if you postpone your turn, you can only move to the very end of the queue. Since I was already around number 44, I decided to keep my spot.

    What I Ordered

    Crab & Clam Ramen – ₩15,800
    Signature Clam Ramen – ₩13,000

The Crab & Clam Ramen is a limited menu, with only 10 bowls available for lunch and 10 for dinner.

I got the last lunch bowl that day, and by around 12:30 PM, it was already sold out.

    🦀 Crab & Clam Ramen

This was my favorite of the two.

The broth had a strong crab aroma and a rich, savory flavor, followed by a cleaner clam taste. It was definitely richer and more flavorful than the Signature Clam Ramen.

The noodles were springy and slightly thick, with a generous portion.

One thing to keep in mind: there wasn’t much crab meat. The crab seemed to contribute more to the overall aroma and flavor of the broth than to the amount of meat you actually eat.

The egg was also more fully cooked than I expected, so if you prefer a soft-boiled egg, keep that in mind.

    Clam Ramen

This one was much lighter and cleaner.

I expected a shio-style ramen, but it actually had a soy sauce-based broth. The soy sauce wasn’t too strong, and the clam flavor came through nicely.

If you prefer a refreshing, lighter ramen, I’d choose this one. If you like rich seafood flavors, I’d go for the Crab & Clam Ramen.

    Is Sarukame Worth the Wait?

    For me, yes.

The wait was long, but I really enjoyed the broth, especially the Crab & Clam Ramen.

If you want to try it, I’d recommend joining the remote waitlist as early as possible. The limited Crab & Clam Ramen can sell out quickly.

My pick: Crab & Clam Ramen 🦀🍜

If you’re a fan of seafood-based ramen, Sarukame is definitely a place I’d recommend trying in Seoul.
